Since March 2023, the new testing center in Montigny le Bretonneux has been home to the largest and most recent Faraday cage built in France.
This installation, a semi-anechoic chamber (SAC) of large dimensions (27 x 18 x 10.5m) is dedicated to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing.
It meets the needs of homologation (UN ECE R10, the installation is recognized as a technical service by the CNRV) for a wide range of vehicles, as well as the qualification of large systems.
Due to its size (4.8m x 4.8m), the door of this cage can accommodate large equipment up to a height of 9.45m once deployed.
The Faraday cage has a 11m diameter turntable capable of supporting a 12-ton mass which is equipped with a roller bench allowing operation in 2 or 4-wheel drive for vehicles that need to be tested in operation, capable of simulating a speed of up to 120 km/h as well as wind reaching 60 km/h, with a wheelbase of up to 6 meters and a support capacity of up to 6 tons per axle, thus allowing testing campaigns on truck tractors or agricultural equipment.
The installation integrates various services to open up to all current and future motorizations: gasoline or diesel combustion engine, micro-hybrid, hybrid and rechargeable hybrid, electric, hydrogen.
This Faraday cage also has a heavy load area supporting up to 40 tons, allowing the reception of construction equipment and equipment of high tonnage and volume encountered in the various sectors of defense, aerospace, rail, nuclear and industry.
