Our EMCEM installation is made up of a high dynamic bench, a variation of our e-Motor bench, installed within a Faraday cage according to the recommendations of our design office.
Made neutral from the EMC point of view, this bench allows to put in operation the electric motor whose electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is to be characterized.
The bench is capable of reaching 21000 rpm for 510 nm of torque. The operation of the motor to be qualified is ensured by a filtered high-voltage, high-power battery simulator placed in the shielding room, with the associated RSILs.
The EMCEM installation (bench + shielding room) complies with CISPR 25, a necessary condition for the implementation of emission and immunity campaigns in the automotive sector. Specifically, it meets the criteria required for the measurement of on-board radioelectric disturbances in the 150 kHz to 2500 MHz range.
This same EMCEM installation also meets the requirements of the aeronautical sector.
With the growing demand for the development of electric motors, Emitech is supporting this evolution in the field of Electro-Magnetic Compatibility with EMCEM, a complete and innovative facility.
This unique test facility, developed entirely in-house, combines the skills of Emitech's laboratories and engineering departments in the field of EMC and powertrains.
This EMCEM facility, integrated within the automotive laboratory of Montigny-le-Bretonneux, allows the implementation of complete EMC test campaigns (conducted + radiated; emissions + immunities) on motors and other high power electrical systems with direct coupling. The high performance of the engine test bench and the environment of the test area, both at the mechanical and EMC levels, offer new possibilities and perspectives for our customers' qualification tests.
Concerning the electric motors that can benefit from the EMCEM installation, they can be supplied with HVDC via a filtered battery simulator (250kW / 1000V / 1000A) and shielded HV Line Impedance Stabilization Networks (LISNs) in compliance with CISPR25 up to 800Adc. These LISNs allow conduction measurements on the motor power cables to be evaluated from an EMC point of view (or allow the injection of disturbing signals in immunity).
The EMC characterization of an electric motor in operation requires to be able to supervise this operation. We implement our PULSAR motor test bench control and supervision system which works in parallel with our EMC test control system. It allows the laboratory to provide a complete supervision of the key engine parameters in correlation with the applied EMC test parameters.
A data acquisition bay completes the EMCEM installation and provides additional measurement and monitoring capabilities of the customer equipment.
Communication systems between the control panel and the customer's motor via optical converters are available (CAN HS / FD / Flexray ...). The use of optical converters ensures the EMC tightness of the cage.
The bench to which the electric motor to be evaluated from an EMC point of view is associated is made of a height-adaptive plate. This feature and the use of mobile tables and ground planes allow us to test different sizes of motors while respecting the normative constraints associated with EMC testing.
This flexibility in the installation also allows us to test the customer's system on 3 sides with reduced time for configuration changes.
Our EMCEM facility is exceptional because of the engineering work required to remain neutral from an EMC point of view while hosting a test bench with a power of 270 kW and the various services required to implement the electric motor to be evaluated (250kW / 1000V / 1000A battery simulator, 2 cooling units (11kW): Water/glycol and Oil with adjustable fluid temperature between -30°C and +120°C, an acquisition bay...)
This unique test facility, developed entirely in-house, combines the skills of Emitech's laboratories and engineering department in the field of EMC and in the field of motors and the development of test benches.
This installation joins an EMC laboratory which itself remains exceptional by the know-how of its teams and the diversity of its instrumentation whether for automotive, aeronautical or even more specific qualifications in the defense sector.
We carry out our tests in compliance with the normative recommendations, the customer's requests and our NF EN ISO/CEI 17025 (Cofrac) accreditation.
